Why is it so hard?

To find a job? Recently, I've sent out at least 10 resumes a day, to recruit agencies, companies, newspaper ads and websites. It has come to about 100+ and about 10% will call back to say that i lack experience, not suitable, and recommond me a customer service job (which don't need much experience as you get to learn on the job)-, which takes up about 80% of the industry right now-, only because they work on commission. So to find a back-end job is like finding a needle in a haystack. Out of that 10% that call back, 9.98% will be for customer service positions or financial consultants a.k.a. insurance agents. And out of that back-end operations of 0.02%, 0.019% will not call back when they say they will. And so, 0.001% is what's left of the job industry for me. Now, How the hell am I suppose to gain experience if I don't start somewhere? It's all about those specific requirements... And about the second languages that u speak.... I know You know what I mean. yeah so.. Quite depressing... Hmm I thought a minister said the job market is improving this year? My Dad wants me to be a Dealer (bank).. Hey.. IR has an opening for a BlackJack Dealer too! hehehe!

Kak Mai, a cousin of mine really gave me an eye-opener. I look up to her for she is a successful woman. She asked me, why aren't people successful? The reason that they do not obtain success is because they are afraid to step out of their comfort zone and grab the opportunities faced in front of them. They are afraid of the paradigm shift. They are afraid of the very obstacles that can make them step ahead. They are too comfortable with what they have and where they are now, that the slightest challenge will just turn them away. If your boss offers you to take charge of a huge changing project, will you accept the challenge? Or just sink away in your cubicle hole, depressed and stressed that you got chosen and say, "God! Why Me?" Take that as an opportunity to learn and make mistakes along the way. Life is too short, if you don't learn anything from this world, you will never get a second chance. I used to be so timid, afraid to speak up and always agree with what other people say..... and yes, sadly, I still do. I know a lot of people attest to that. I need to change, period.

Watch the movie.. "The Pursuit of Happyness". I cried during the movie. yes... It is a very very good movie about determination. It gives you inspiration to achieve. I gave my utmost full concentration staring at the cinema screen, not blinking. Yes, it's ThAT good. I feel like watching it again to get this light within my soul. =) You will feel like you are floating out of the cinema at the end of the movie. 5*.

Hon has taught me an invaluable lesson. He's my personal coach in running. He's very knowledgeable in all these sports thingy, man. I am running with him again tomorrow at Tampy Stadium after he knocks off from work. If it's occupied, then we'll go swimming at the complex nearby. I've bought goggles today! hehe! I am beginning to love this healthy lifestyle of ours. Keeping in shape is one thing. Health is another. And Hon told me that Yoga, Pilates all don't work. Running is the best form of exercise, furthermore, it's free! Apart from that, I've really cut down on my favourite chicken skin, satay babat, char kway teow, laksa and in their place are lots of Yakult, Vitagen, cereal milk, oats and fruits. Have i tempted anyone out there to run? =)

Shezai On The Run !!

We're going to start exercising starting today,31st January 2007 till God knows when, lol! Yeah, this will keep us distracted from the usual heavy splurges every Month & more importantly, to keep fit & in shape towards our big day!

Anyways I'm starting to love hun's cooking! She's getting there real soon. Her 'mee pedas' is one of my favorite dish now after lasagne! Her dad first commented that it's 'masin' but later asked for a second serving! Haha! See Hun! Now, a bit of coaching by my mum and that will be the icing on the cake.

Few things that I really love about hun is her confidence, her will to learn and most importantly, she's also someone who refuses to give up easily. Now her biggest challenge is to channel all the 3 points to the physical side. Like what i've mentioned earlier, we are going to train hard and at the same time eat healthy!

Shezai will officially go Nike for 2007! Hooray!

It's time

Hon's coming to my house tomorrow and i'm gonna cook my favourite (and his) Mee Beefball Super-Pedas for him! Yeays!

After which, we'll be going to our first appointment in wedding planning preparations. It's only about 10 more months to go before the big day and i bet things are gonna get busy pretty soon. I can feel the rush and i know how stressed things can get at the last minute. Bedroom Reno, Deco, Food, Kompang, Car, gifts, bookings and the list goes on. I just wish weddings can be so simple.

Anyway, it's been a week since the Parents are home from Haj and syukur things are fine. Thank you Sayang for helping me spruce up the house and doing a great paint-job on the front door. You are so wonderful. We've reached a state where me and him don't really care how unpresentable we can look in front of each other. I think we have turned each other inside out and have accepted our silly little imperfections with the same degree of love as always. Muka busuk ke, taik mata belambak ke, rambut kusut-masai ke, baju besar ke, kaki kurap ke, macham macham lagi lah. We still sayang-sayang each other no matter what. hahaha!

*shakes head*

Why wouldn't I want to go to one of my close friend's birthday event this week?
It just doesn't sound so right.
Why wouldn't all of you understand that I need to work?
How is it posibble to take few hr time offs on a god damn Saturday?
How am I going to change my working roster if all of you tell me 4 days before a birthday event? Why the need to press me so hard?
Aren't we suppose to call or ask first if he/she is free on that day first rather than 'Why can't you go cause' we haven't hang out for so long?'

We don't need to wait for birthdays/Festive seasons etc to hang out, cause' we all used to hang out like we all used too.

In the previous post, I have volunteered to show you the pest that lurks in your kitchen at night.. even in the cleanest kitchen, these pests give no mercy. Now i am going to show you how I got to become a tad too sadistic (pardon me) and exterminate these damn pests... *the Cockroach*. Hold your breath... It's an ugly sight to behold. Do not ignore the warning.

Here we go :



Trap-A-Roach. "More Powerful Catch with Special Foot Mat!" Oh yes.. Believe it.. Roaches now have a mat to 'wipe their feet of oil and dirt' before they go into the 'house' for some 'hot tea'.
"Wavy Glued Surface catches more roaches!" Now that's a good start. I have confidence in this thing. Let's put it to the test.... Now now, let's look inside... lalalala



What a nice prim and proper little house for all my little pests. Siap with all the cute cartoon drawings and all. See how attractive they made the "lady" roach? More like "hooker" roach, if they could ever have a high sex drive.. hahaha. ok i'm blabbering off... next!


On the right is the roach's foot mat, made of absorbant substance to trap oil and dirt off the roaches' feet before they "step in" the house. The Bait will be laid in the middle of the "house", on the patch of sticky icky gluey substance.


Simply place the 'house' in a dark place you know roaches love to go at night. Let's just call it the "Roach Hooker's Love Motel".


Look what happened in a week! It trapped 3 cockroaches! Super Big! Super Naughty!

SheZai watched 'Borat' yeterday. Slapstick comedy.. really. Character-infused Borat is so original and look out for that addictive accent. Laugh-out loud ..... and then forgettable.




Peep-watch Update: Tight Cheongsam dresses are giving Kimono-like-top-wearing chicks a run for their skinny arses. It'll be shorter and butt-hugging ala left pic. And i envisage these littering the streets sometime soon. But worn with leggings???? a no-no. well. you decide.



Yes, the house is so clean you can lick a jelly off the kitchen floor. I am proud of myself, sprucing up the state of the house and all while my parents are away. Doing almost 20 batches of laundry in 1 week till the clothes made a mountain heap in my living room. Phique called me laundry-obsessive-paranoid-android sister. Almost grew biceps turun angkat gala baju. haha! Bought roach trappers shaped like a house, ants baits and cockroach baits and scattered them all around the kitchen. It works! Stick around and i'll show you what lurks in your kitchen at night.

Bought JIF and scrubbed every single speck of dirt. Then... it struck me like an oily frying pan on my head when Hon mentioned," oh.. you'll have more to come in the future."

Abah & Mama, I Love You.

My parents at this moment will be in Mount Arafat performing prayers and tirelessly repeating the formal ritual together with other pilgrims. "I am here in response to your call, Lord, I am here..." chanting in a multitude of accents as they gathered on a plain bounded by hills. "You have no equal. To you the praise, from you the favour -- and royalty belongs only to you."

And tonight they will make their way to spend the night in Prayers. Ya Allah, I pray for tomorrow morning. Please let my parents be safe in Mina for the ritual stoning of the three pillars representing Satan. This is the most dangerous part of the pilgrimage and I know me and my sister cry most nights worrying about our parents.

My Mom called 2 nights ago to assure that she is safe. Dad and her are separated for the time being. As for Dad, he called last night around 11pm to ask how his daughters are and to send his regards to the elders. His voice sounds faint..... and weak. Like he was shivering, teeth chattering. Very far from his normal boisterous booming voice. Most probably due to the icy cold weather at nights in Arafat. It was the first time i felt so happy to hear from him. I assured him everything at home is under control and in order. Oh God, Please take care of my parent's health.

I remember the day they left for Airport, Dad hugged Zaini and said," Please take care of my daughter when i am away," to Hon. I was most absolutely touched by that and tears started swelling in my eyes. I have never seen this softer side of my Dad, ever before in the 20+ years of my life.

I know... when Eid-ul Adha comes this Sunday, my sister and I will feel at our most lonesome. Crying from our hearts, longing for our parents.. It is when we realise how much our parents mean to us and not to take them for granted. As an elder sister, I have been trying to take care of Phique, but alas, working long hours everyday does not help at all. Phique, I know and trust you that you can behave and take care of yourself. Please do good.

Statistics show that about 4 million pilgrims -- 55 percent of them males -- had arrived for the haj from 187 countries. InsyaAllah, semoga my parents will have Haji yang mabrur.

2 more of my friends getting married in a couple of weeks & that should wrap up for 2006. Like Hun said in a much earlier post, 2007 is the year. Lots of weddings to attend. Friends & relatives mostly.

My favorite wedding for the year of 2006? Had to be Juherman's & Fildza's wedding(both place). Simple, Elegant & Warmth. That's the 3 main words best describe for the type of weddings that I really like. Well, I never fancy the "big fiesta" ones or the "over" westernised ones. Therefore I hope mine will be the Simple, Elegant & Warmth wedding. It's all going thanks to my best mate, Zul, Insya'allah. ';D

As for now, best wishes for Hun's Mam & Dad's trip to Haj.

Assignments & more assignments..datelines..& more datelines too. Christmas this season weren't as fantastic as last year when I was stationed at T2 but its still fun though, my first time in town store.

Anyways I took the wrong bus home! haha, guess my mind are too tired. Silly me.. haha.

My New Toy,From Hun For My Birthday Pressie

Well, I haven't been blogging lately. Quite busy with work as always. Anyways I've found myself a favourite movie so far that I really can memorise the plots, cast, lines etc. The movie is? SAW 1, SAW 2 & SAW 3! Well, I didn't really catch the first 2 actually but went to watch straight away the 3rd one. Didn't want to watch it in fact but was highly persuade by Hun. Got a little help by Hun about what its all about during the show & from then on I was like wow! Very gory & manupulative plot! We then rent SAW 2 & caught it on Saturday at Hun's place together with mum. I bought the 1st one & now I fully understand the whole story!

Hopefully there'll be the sequels to it!
