Kuala Lumpur Food Escapade

I am going to start writing about KL by introducing the Food Escapades we had there. Of course, We're Food Junkies and We Love Food. Me, Hon, and my cousins escaped to Food Heaven during the weekend. In just 1 day, we had 6 meals. Our trip to KL was a mere face-stuffin' and shoppin' routine. We left for KL after work on Friday, had a bad experience with 'GL Exp' bus. The bus jalan hutan instead of the highway to avoid tolls, and i think that's just bad. To make it an unforgettable experience, we witnessed a car crashed into a tree when we first alight from our bus at Bukit Bintang ard 2am. Drunk Driving. What a way to start our trip. Totally heart-wrenching. All of us stared in shock as we walked to our hotel. Westin Hotel was SUPERB. The spacious one-of-a-kind-only beds are heavenly. Everything is heavenly. The toilet, the room, the service, the interior. Now don't get me started on the Cabs in KL. They have ripped us off more than once. A trip from Pudu to KLCC cost RM15. Now is that crazy shit or what. Bloody hell. We learnt our lesson to pakai meter ok. Enough talking. Let me introduce the Food we had...

Nando's is just delectable. And FYI, they are thinking of opening one in Singapore! First hand information from the staff there. Oh god, do you know that they are having this promo whereby all the guys have to wear boxers with T shirts. Funny sight they are!

And who could ever forget A&W!! We had to have Coney Dog, curly fries and Root Beer Float!
Why oh why did A&W disappear in S'pore?
BB Chicken rice.. as always. Everytime we are there we eat this, dunno y. Sedap sangat KOT.

Nachos with Cheese and Sour Cream with Chillis and tomoto toppings.
Planet Hollywood Next to watch the stupid soccer match btn ManU and Chelsea.
The Bananananna Split.
Pasta Period - Aglia Olio marinara penne fussili spaghetti olive oil cheese tobasco sauce mussels prawns lobster ..aah.. u know what i mean.

Ladies' Fruit Punch packs a good Punch for my throat!

Haagen Dazs' ice-cream and fruits Fondue
to end the ever-groooooging stomach cravings.
Hon's indulging.. hehehe!

Haaa.. Ni mesti beli kat Yong Peng. Sapa tak beli, rugi. Kena pandai cari yang garing Ok. Hon and me bought a pack each. Our fave!

Next, let me give you a tour of our hotel. We stayed in Westin Hotel for 2 nights. Let the pictures speak for themselves yar.
Inviting freeflow drinks at the lobby.
The chic reception area
Our heavenly bedrooms
Our heavenly toilets
I can soak up in here for hours.
The hotel main toilet
The swimming Pool.
The poolview from our room
The sky view from our room

The Heavenly Bed

And yes, onwards to our pictures next!

SheZai in KL

Yes! We met the lovely Tina and Fawa, our good friends in KL. They were a great bubbly bunch and we had so much fun cathing up with them. Thank you ladies!

I miss them already.

I can't believe they are promoting Singapore in KL, using PHUA CHU KANG props. Pls lah Singapore. Come up with something else... Tourists will think Singapore is full of Ah Peks in weird yellow oversized boots, unruly messy curly hair, and a ghastly witch-like huge-ass Mole on the face which is like EEEeeeWww!!
Ooops.. We dropped by Madras, India for a short while. And when i say short while, i really mean short while. We couldn't take the noon heat there.

Well that's all folks for our SheZai's KL Trip! Till our next Eating Adventure. We'll meet again.

These are the pixels taken after a full day in Johor today. Hon, too bad you can't make it. But i promise you next time, when you aren't working, we'll go there to look for good buys k. Since our wedding date draws near (200 days left, from my trusty counter on the left!) , i've actually calculated that we have only about 48 days left (technically, discounting all the weekdays where we can't plan due to work plus minus.) A LOT has to be done. And i have the jitters of a bride-to-be already. I've alr set the theme for my room's interior design and gifts deco and yes, i will stick to it. No time to be fickle-minded now. With the help of my cousins, (creative bunch they are! haha! I can imagine us cousins being makcik-makcik oooh-ing and aaahhh-ing at kains at arab street and Geylang in the future. Right Mai & Raudha? haha!). i got my stuffs and have plans to do more decorative shopping soon. Yeay! I'm on a deco-high right now as ideas are just oooozing out of my brains.

Some Good Finds across the Causeway. This pic exudes a garden theme. My cousin Firuz has some good ideas (but can sound merepek now) on themes. Thanks Yutt. P/S: I think it can work out, you know. You never know unless you try it out. heheheh!

If only this chandelier could be used as a main lighting at my void-deck... it'll be great. But alas, i could not and would not afford such stuffs. *membazirkan!*

Haaaa.. This is one of the Deco that struck my mind, I imagine.. having a Disco theme, with different coloured spotlights, tapi if dah kat bawah block void-deck, i can imagine another thing. The look of the makcik-makcik's faces as if to say, "Dah buang terbiat?" ahh i must be out of my mind. Hey, it's not wrong to be creative and different. haha!

Next Up, We head off to Jusco to get on a deco-high summore before stopping to eat at Manhattan Fish Market. This man will "burn" your saucy prawns for you on the spot. But actually, i don't see the diff la. In fact, they just taste of burnt chars, that's all. No need the hoohaa of lighting that Gas Fire thingy in front of our faces. We get it. But thumbs up for effort!

I don't know what is this fish called, it's on the catch of the day menu, but my cousin Raudha had a blast of a time eating this fish. It must be damn delicious. *Stresses on the word damn* hahaha!

Butter Garlic Mussels is a Must-Try! Seriously, anybody can make this. Let me give you the recipe in which i have tried and tested, fry some chopped garlic, add lots and lots of melted butter and let it simmer. Then pour over anything you deem you can eat with it. That's all! I'm Serious. Period.

As you can see, presenting.....my charred prawns.

And yes, for the fish, i'd give it a so-so review as i think FishnCo is better.
Fish always taste better with melted cheese and butter i reckon.

What's left of that fish. The portion is A LOT i tell ya. THe garlic rice is delicious but people usually fork around the main attraction first. As you see.

My Cousin Firuz and Amir

My cousins Mai and Fahmy

My cousins Raudha and Aminor

Momma and me! (Yes, i realised i've grown chubbier by all that good food. I couldn't resist.) hahaha!

"Kedai Menjual makanan tidak halal" - So apt and responsible of them to put up this signage. But then again, it's a BakWa stall... so it's pretty obvious right? =)

Can't wait for next trip with Hon along! Hon, I really miss you so much. I'm going to stay up tonight to wait for you to come home from work at 2 am just so that i can talk to you on the phone. Don't mind the fact that i have to wake up at 6am for work. Sacrificing my sleep is nothing compared to hearing your voice and getting to talk to you and asking you about your day. I Love You.

P/S: No i do not complain about you not blogging ok.. hmm ok.. maybe i do.. just a little teeny weeny complaint... haha no maybe a lot. hahaha! You and your SHOES!!! ahhaha! Nevermind ok, I still love you and your shoes. And i know you still love me. =)*hugs*

Projects..

Hun has always been asking me to blog. Lazy? No time? Okla.. I admit I'm lazy at times + always. haha. She also complained that I'll only blog whenever I have new shoes. True? No comment. Sometimes I just wish that I can visualize what I want to blog it instantly published at blogger. Best kan?

Ok, stop talking rubbish Zaini & just blog.

For the past 2 Saturdays, it has been a sporting affair. Playing badminton (sounds like abang kahwin2 games like my friend GG said) with Hun's cousins & parents was so fun. So far we had bowling session before & now badminton. What's next? hiking ? trailing? sounds interesting Hun? Maybe soon but for now, we all can't wait to go KL on the 18th-20th. More like a weekend getaway for them & its also a timeout from work for me too.

Phuket next? Haha The boss has hinted.

Anyways, I'd like to blog of what my title is all about; Project ala "Project"

Kids, teens or whatever they call has always been overusing the word Project. The word seems so powerful that most parents would actually fall for it easily. Not true? Ask yourself. I admit I've ever used the word before but not till the extend of what the kids or teens have misused the word these days. Scary I must say since it really does happened & I've seen the truth at times. It's not just my belief or experience you see. Its really happening. Just read some of the news on the papers. Its a fact & the scary part is that it does come back in retributions, slowly that is. Oh well..some do get away with it & some don't. I hope the ones who don't will eventually fall one day. These kids or teens should cherish what they've been showered nowadays. They uses handphones instead of pagers nowadays. Laptops instead of big ring folders with notes. They even misuse these things too at times like video recording their teachers or anything they feel is 'cool' & post it up eventually at youtube. Out of control, yes.

Ok back to the "Project" issue. I just wish that they would stop using the word as an excuse. Not to say the parents are stupid which I doubt they are but I bet they used to experience that before. So its just a matter of time for them to catch their teen kids red-handed! Especially when they used the word to go clubbing or go dates. It feels great to see them get caught but on the other side, its scary. Why? Cause the cycle never ends. It happened during my time, it happened before mine, it happened to the current crops so do you think it will happen to the next generation? My say is, it will stop if we do now.

Of Cookings & Complexions

Hon is so sweet. I love you too Hon. The ironic thing right now is.... Hon is staying in Clementi, but works at airport.. While I'm staying in Tampines, but works at Alexandra Rd. hahaha!

Went out with Hon just now on this Labour day, It's freaking crowded everywhere. So we went to our usual favourite hang-out. We really talked deep issues there about our relationship and future plans.. Then out of randomness, Hon suddenly want to godeh-godeh my bag and took out my make-up kit... and it's so funny when he touch up for me my make-up in front of all the chillers at Starbucks. hahaha. Not knowing what is for what. eyeliner, powder, lipgloss, etc. he carefully, with full attention, touch up my make-up for me... funny la he.

Over the weekend, I asked hon to come over to my house after work as i'm cooking his all-time favourite lasagne, and Mom's Mee Pedas Beefball. It was a fun-filled weekend as we watched SAW 3 again on DVD in the afternoon with my Mom, and then played badminton at night with my cousins, mom, dad, uncle and aunt. It was a good game as we booked 2 badminton courts. My hands are aching now. Around midnight, all of us headed to Johore to enjoy the sedap seafood and came home at 6am the next day. Marvellous. I love it when Hon comes along for family outings. Thanks Hon.

This is the Mee Pedas that Hon loves so so so much. Eat it with Yellow Mee or macaroni anyway u like it. I love it too.. And it is really pedas, as u can see. I used red chilli as well as cili padi.. The beefballs are really tender and juicy. Will try to learn more recipes soon... hehe!

Recently, i became obsessed when i noticed a few wrinkles and crow's feet forming around my eyes.... And oh well, my cellulites are always there.. so i need to go on a mission to really discipline myself and take away all the signs of stress and ageing. Guardian has a good May Day sale at 10% off. So i wanted to try a few products. I think Loreal is too strong for my skin, so i'm trying to switch to Good Ol' Olay. Review? The thermal Regenerist facial wash is good! It gets warm once in touch with water and smells like bubble gum. Yum. I'll see how Olay goes. Do you Olay?

Mad World out there.

I know it's a tad bit late, but in view of the sad massacre of Virginia Tech which left 33 people dead and 15 injured, I can't help but try to understand Cho Seung-Hui's mind and this song fits perfectly. Just close your eyes....... and listen to the song playing........ feels creepy when you think about a killer's mind.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world ... world
Enlarge your world

My Bum-Time has come to an end.

Remember i once said i'll start work on that monday some time ago? I didn't. I went to that bank on my first day of work to void and forfeit my 6-mth contract. Thank God, thank God, thank God i do not have to pay 1-mth salary since technically, i haven't start work yet. The reason was because I got another offer as a Treasury Analyst, (the job where i said they interviewed/interrogated me thoroughly for 2 hours). A much better offer. I am very grateful and give all my thanks to my helpful cousin, Maisuri. My very FIRST permanent job. Not temp, not contract, but Perm! With higher pay. With better benefits. But of course the work's tougher N the place's further (near PSA). I'm starting this Monday 23 Apr. Finally, exactly 3 months of job-searching, bumming, afternoon naps, towning, spending sprees, movies, eateries, late nights and FUN have to come to an end. And about time too... Gonna miss the carefree, stressfree times i had enjoyed so much these 3 months. But it's time to say goodbye to it and bring on the stress of work once again, fill up the burnt hole in my savings account once again, meet my Hon less and less once again....But for a secured job and future, i say Bring it on!

As for tonight, i'm going seafood-eating once again with my close cousins. Most prob will end up across the causeway for a feast at midnight tonight and cruise around till da wee hours of next morning. Hahaha. I love weekends. As for tomorrow's agenda, me and Hon will be reki'ing the cloths to make our pair of Baju Kurungs.

Hon and me both love Movies. Especially gory, blood-spewing, sadistic movies. Such huge fans of them gore. Romantic sappy sappy movies just won't do for us. Watched Turistas and The Hills Have Eyes 2 recently. Turistas was such a huge turn-off. The gore factor just isn't there. Claimed to be better than Hostel, but geez, Hostel is 10x better. The only 'syiok' part was the cutting up of the lady for her insides. The rest are just shoot-outs and under-water swimming and hiding..... BORING! As for "The Hills ....2", hmm.. yes, the gore factor makes me and hon squirm and wiggly a little bit. You would expect highly after you see the starting scene of the show where a woman gives birth to the mutant and the baby was practically pulled out of her, with cord attached to womb. Fooh! But then, the cons... Bad StoryLine! For goodness sakes, can't they think of anything else other than them soldiers going to the site to give supplies, dieing one by one. What the crap! I like the storyline of the The Hills 1 better, at least it revolves around family vacation, which is... believable. Esp the rape part. urkh. However, i would give thumbs up for the gore factor in "The Hills...2". Jon & Wes Craven are sick in the head. I Loike! Next on the list - Hostel 2, 28 Weeks Later, GrindHouse!

April's History FieldTrip

What do we do for fun? I realised that in this blog, most of our starting sentence begins with "We had fun today!" Well, truth be told, that's exactly how we, SheZai, felt when we are out with each other. Basically, Our golden rule..."We Have Fun." Get out of our mundane sedentary lifestyle and explore our endless possibilities.
And so it didn't surprise anybody out there that we went to Sentosa (again) yesterday. Ah ah ah... No no, it's not tanning or beaching and whatsoever. We actually planned to "walk around" at first. But where our feet brought us to left little to the imagination. Soo... here goes...
"Our History Fieldtrip"...

We saw this beautiful creature at the entrance of "Underwater World". Oh Poor poor turtles.. Living in captivity. They're huge, i tell ya. Hon captured this gorgeous shot.

This one wanted to say :Hi:

I'm gonna be Shark Bait soon enough. It was so hot and the sun was scorching yesterday.

I had to wear light.

And no, we didn't go to Underwater World due to the very costly entrance fees. Not worth it for now. So onwards we march to another area...

Having a rest in the shade before we begin our "Expedition". Hah! Yea right. We felt like students once again.

Seeing that Fort Siloso costs only $8/- per person, our senses kicked in and we decided to explore further. We are trying to save money, but have fun all at the same time... and it IS achievable. =) *Feeling Oprah Winfrey's Debt Diet*

Hon scrutinizing the Map of the fort. The place is huge and the guide told us it will take 1& 1/2 hours to explore the area. Aahhh.. just what we needed. A little education won't hurt us, yea? Anon once said, "Search knowledge from cradle to grave."

If you were to look closely at this picture, Hon is actually flying....

:"ayyyye!":

A letter written by a Soldier to his Mom during the Occupation..

The underlined portion caught my eyes. Hehe!

This Underlined Portion caught Hon's eyes..

-"Dhobi-Wallah" a.k.a. Laundry man.

Don't we look like we're in another country or something? hahaha!

There's actually smoke coming from the canon behind us if u look closely.

Union Jacked Hon raised the flag.
*feign British accent*
Insert sentence here.

I like this sentence. It resonates Power.

A Lovely shot captured.

You wouldn't have noticed that the man isn't actually real or a dummy.

In fact, It's just cardboard.

But then again, How could a person be so gray in colour?

What's Fort Siloso without this piece of artwork?
A must-take photo. hah!

This pic i took scared the shit out of me. Look at it for a long time and it'll spook the shit out of you too!

The Gunners' Room.

Hon being a great sport posing atop the canon.

"Syonan-To" - A difficult time for then Singaporeans.

The Fort Siloso Bus is shiny and new. It's amazing. We couldn't resist taking a picture with it.

Hmmmm... Wonder if we should rent this thing for our wedding.....ermm... Hon?

Skyride and Luge is next. The Skyride was fabulous! Well, Hon was afraid of heights but Kudos to you Dear for making it to the tops! hahaa! We can go skiiing next time. The picture will be updated soon as I am still waiting for an email from them for our picture. hehehe! Can't wait. It shows the fear in our faces, but it turned out nice!

This last picture at the Bottom is so corny.
Now now, Scrap that thought out of your heads!

After Sentosa, We caught Yasmin Ahmad's movie "Mukhsin" @ Vivocity in light of the Film Festival. Hon said it's out on DVD already but movie sounds good too.

Hon and me have always been a fan of Gubra and Sepet. And we have yet to catch "Rabun". But Mukhsin is like a Prequel to Sepet. It's Good. Very Good. Very Very Good.

You will relate to it well if you are a true Malay at heart. The acting is superb, the emotions shown will make you gasp in awe. There will be special appearances by "Orked" and "Jason".

There are familiar scenes where you'll laugh your hearts out. Yasmin Ahmad is an intelligent storyteller. Hats off to her.

April's Here

It's been quite a while since this blog of ours has been revamped. Finally, I took some time to just come up with a simple design and spruce up the state of this blog, since the Fiance is working today. Most probably it'll stay this way for the next year or so... hehe!

Anyway, finally after close to 3 tedious months of searching for a job, I clinched one. Still in the Banking Industry and I'm glad. Just super! Gonna start next Monday so I still have 1 more week to enjoy. Yeay! Thank You Everybody who has given me their utmost support. Especially to Hon whose kind patient words of motivation and encouragement will always aspire me to reach my Future Goals.. You're My All, Honey. And I Love you too.
