Post Redang Trip

Redang was superb fullstop.

We arrived mid noon on Friday. We also planned to just switch off on that day therefore we rent 3 dvds bought lunch & lots of junks to keep us filled throughout the day. When we reached home we head to finish up the laundry first. After which we kind of tidy up the house a little had lunch while watching one of the dvd & then off to sleep~. Woke up late in the evening. Mama bought us dinner & while watching tv Mama asked if we were keen to join Abah's side for dinner at Saujana the next day. Were quite reluctant at first but end up we decided to go as it has been quite a while we haven't meet them for a while.

Here are some pictures of the dinner trip to Saujana.

Take me on a trip I'd like to go someday....

When you're on a holiday
You can't find the words to say
All the things that come to you
And I wanna feel it too

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

We'll run away together
We'll spend some time forever
We'll never feel bad anymore

Weezer - Island in the Sun
This song will certainly be playing on my iPod when i'm lazying on the beach.... *sigh*

All is booked. We're set to jet this Wednesday. Going to Redang Island by Berjaya Air from Seletar Airport. There is a Redang airport on the island itself and it is just about 10 mins drive from Berjaya Beach Resort where we'll be staying. How convenient is that!? Yes we decided on taking a small jet instead of the dreaded 10 hour coach + 1 hour boat. By air we will arrive in just 1+ hours with lots of time unwasted. Just like going to Sentosa from Tampines. A doorstep away.... But Redang is nothing like Sentosa. Here's a photo of our resort for inspiration. If you were to loook really closely at the far horizon you could actually see the waves and the breeze blowing the coconut trees. Made you feel like going on a vacation didn't we.

Let your thoughts wander just for a bit. Just imagine running on the powdery white sand almost as silky as milk carressing your feet; clear blue skies with the wind blowing in your hair; the smell of salty seawater with a variety of anemone fishes swimming by you in shallow waters far out still; swaying coconut trees in the cool breeze; a flower perched nicely behind your ear; or a floppy straw hat for style as you lay on the beach chair in your sarong; a cocktail drink in one hand and suntan lotion in the other. Oh my mind wanders freely. Only 2 more days of stressful work and off to Paradise Island with the one I love to spend quality time together. Looking forward to that! Stay tuned for our review and photos once we're back! I think Hon has heard enough of my unrelenting gabbers~! I gab so much about this trip that I so long for! You should know. And this will be our 3rd Honeymoon couple get-away..... and counting. =) I Love you Honey. You won't regret this trip I promise. If it does sound boring to you .. I'll make it extra super-duper exciting and adventurous for you that it'll blow your Nike socks off. *winks*

The movies are good these days. We've caught Wanted/ Deception/ Hancock/ Get Smart. The best of the lot? Of course it's 'Wanted'. Ah ah.. Not due to the sexy bad-girl plumpilicous lips Angelina Jolie.. ermm. ok maybe i'm biased... but the storyline is superb! With a twist. Hancock's storyline is not even close to Wanted's. Hancock's storyline becomes crap once the "wife" comes in. If you've watched it you'll know what i mean.

Pics of food will be put on hold for a while coz this lady is still shopping for the ingredients.. Ish ish ish.. Maybe once we get back she'll make a nice hot plate of something something for her Hon.
Round juicy tomatoes are always a must for for some dishes. Checked!

Speaking of food, I had a great dinner meet up with Kak Mai and Hui Ting last week~! We ate at this place in Holland V. Nice Mediterranean Ambience. "Bon Voyage and all the best in your shopping splendour in NY Kak Mai!!! Remember to read the book 'Shopaholic Abroad' on your flight ok! Totally fab book which you can absolutely relate to!"

Rich Foods of the Mediterranean kind

I don't know why i'm so random these days. Maybe it's because I want to squeeze whatever thots I have into a single blog entry. Yes... maybe. Oh yar.. I'm into my last Sophie Kinsella Shopaholic series book already! I'm now reading Shopaholic and Baby, the best of the lot. Next will be 'Remember me' and then i'm done. I'm also addicted to Sudoku, thanks to my sister.

I'll be training up for my 10km NikePlus Worldwide Human race with Hon and i have just 2 months left! Will try to go for a 5km jog later around my estate and see if I still have IT. I DO wanna get in sexy shape and increase my will power and stamina!! Oh this is gonna be one interesting 10Km run organised by Nike.. There'll be bands playing at the end so you get to jump and dance after the run! Go Google Nike Human Race. You see you see... I'm so random. Where's my flow in writing? oh god.

Honey you really made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I read your entry. I love being married to you, Love... my annoying funny guy.

Never Has Been This Satisfied Before ';D

This Picture Explains It All

2008 has been superb! Like the title of this post says, 'Never Has Been This Satisfied Before'. I'm really overjoyed after the result was out yesterday announced by the Nike SG Director. Wheelock has won best shop for Summer 2008! They've won 2nd for Holiday 2007 & was also voted Best Sportswear Shop too in Spring 2008. The prizes they're going to get are going to be exclusive. Well Done Guys! You deserve it & it also adds a huge impact to my portfolio! haha Anyways I'm not just going to sit in this comfortable zone but instead I'm trying to get my other 2 stores, Paragon or Takashimaya to win for Fall 2008!

Although how stress I am at work, I just feel that I'm blessed & lucky to be in this position. I've always enjoyed every minute of it especially when I could wear whatever I want to work! That's really stress free ok? Cause you don't really need to think as 95% of my wardrobe be it in Tampines or Clementi are already stocked in Nike. So I just mix & match with my shoes or bags & .....Whoosh..... off to work with my Ipod.

Another stress relief factor which I like is, I have a beautiful wife waiting for me at home each day after work. That makes me smile instantly no matter how tired I am. She'll cook or buy dinner for me & I love to disturb her when she sleeps soundly haha cos she's very cute to look at!

The Wife has complained & now here I am. heh

Workload has recently piled up. I really need to get down to do some serious planning for the stores. Also not forgetting to do training plans. The time's ticking..

Ok work aside, I've tried to distress myself by watching the Euro 2008. My favorite overhyped England is already out but I've put my heart for Espana this tournament & they haven't really disappoint me other than against the stubborn Italian defense. Why I chose them over Holland is that, they played quick attacking game just like the gunners whereas the dutch played beautiful total football but very unbalance in defense so it's kind of messed up. Furthermore the only un-handsome players in the Spanish squad are only Puyol & Marcos Senna unlike the Dutch. haha Anyways I've only missed a single game of theirs due to Fadz & Shakirah's 'cukur rambut' for their new born. So I'm really hoping for them to at least be in the final! But I still won't buy their jersey. haha. Btw speaking of jerseys, next month will Arsenal's home kit launch!

Common Cesc!

Another way I've distressed myself is by buying these Takara Tomy Racing Cars! Hun bought together with me too! It cost 20ish each. The sight of it is very cute but the controller is quite unfriendly with me. Reason why? My hand is huge. Haha

This is mine!

This is Hun's!

This is how small the car is!

& the cats love playing with it too!

Anyways come 310808 Shezai will trade this

To Participate In This

Yes! We're going to run the 10km Nike Human race! Come & join the run! 25 cities around the world approximately running at the same time & Singapore is the only city representing South East Asia!

Movies & Normal Updates

Apart from Narnia, which to me is the best mythical movie ever made, we've been catching up with what's at the movies. Will review about some later.. Meanwhile, we've been busy... (who isn't anyway in this high standard of living metropolitan city of ours, right?), so our blog's been going nowhere this couple of weeks. We've planned our next couple getaway.... in July ...where there'll be no screaming annoying kids around because they'll be having their asses back in school ha-ha-ha. My second trip to Pulau Redang and Hon's first trip there. My most favourite Paradise island!!! And I want Honey to share the experience with me this time. Yessss ah! Hope it was still as scenic and clean as years back. I wanna see shooting stars again! I wanna snorkel in the clear blue waters of the Marine Park again. Hon, I bet you this is 10x better than Phuket. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! I'm in a Holiday mood already. Let's get-a-way again! Just the 2 of us! yeay yeay!

Just randomly, why oh why do tiny brainless little kids love to drink alcohol so much like it's their version of purified water and show it off to other kids and yell 'Hey aku lagi terrer ahhhh minum beer kau minum Vodka ajer' and get drunk by the roadside with their panties showing and covered in puke, nowadays? What is it to them? Glory? Pride? Grandeur? Splendor? Show-off? Magnificence? Or just pure stupidity? Oh the end is near...

You know, sometimes the best exercise is housework. Mopping, cooking, cleaning, washing is no easy feat, in fact, it's super tiring. Kudos to all Moms out there who juggle working life, family life and time for herself. I've spent the whole noon cooking Sweet Sour Fish with rice for Hon to bring to work, then did the laundry, vacuum, mop the floor. I feel a great sense of satisfaction after that. Is this how a wife is supposed to feel? I dunno. Maybe. When it's time for us to get a new home, i guess that's when the real test begins aye?

Congrats to Hon on his career move. He keeps on flying and flying. I admire that in my Hubby. Go-getter yet patient, Sociable and a Great Leader. Love you Darling.

List of movies we've watched include The Happening, The Incredible Hulk, Sex & the City, etc etc. First stop, The Happening. My oh my. Mnight has a brilliant mind. I love this movie. I give it 4/5. It's deep shit, disturbing scenes, scientific, gory, makes you ponder, when the answer to it lies within ourselves. We are the ones making the world as it is today. So in a way, Mother Earth Gaia can't handle us humanoids no more what with all the Nuclear bombings, free trade agreement, ozone layer depletion, pullution, etc etc. We are destroying not only Gaia but ourselves as well! It makes you wonder, What if trees really did talk and communicate to the bushes and the grass....releasing pheromones that could affect our sense of sensibility and we start killing ourselves one by one.. gosh, scary to think of it. God is indeed great! I can't believe the rating for it was PG! It should have been M18 or NC16 for that matter! There were suicidal disturbing scenes! What if young kids question these behaviour? Sigh, I have no say.

Hulk was pretty boring. No points for guessing that there will be Hulk 3. The movie looked so graphicized. Very Game-like. And Hulk was hideous! There were scenes where there were no flow, as in, one scene suddenly cuts off and jump to another scene where there are no relations whatsoever to the previous scene. Pretty annoying if you asked me. The story line is bloody obvious you can see through it without even guessing. Morale of story... Be Patient. Don't become Monster when angry... Truthfully, this Hulk is one dumb blonde. Heart rate shoot up, become Green Hulk. Blame everything in its way. Got loud thunderstorm also want to get angry and blame the lightning. Knock its head against rock ceiling also want to get angry and blame the rock. Haiyoo, so difficult lah this Hulk.. So emotional... Want to get so angry for waaaaattttt??! Ironically linkedly speaking..... it somehow reminds me of somebody in my childhood days..... errrrrrmmmmssss... Speaking of which..
Happy Father's Day!!!

Deal or Great Deal

Hon has been a little too busy with work to blog, so I guess it's just me and our blog then. =)
Today, I skipped jogging. And told Hon that for once, I'm gonna wake up a little bit later than usual this day. Yup, the clock showed 1pm as i groggily opened my eyes. What a luxurious sleep!! And to know that it rained heavily in the morning.. with the cool breeze, lying under the duvet covers, dreaming of paradise islands. Hon tapped me on my shoulder and awoke me from my deep slumber. He was heading off to work. He told me that we're gonna eat at Popeye's tonight for dinner since the parents will be away at a meeting. A quick kiss and off he went to work. I went back to dreamland.

Awoken by the nice smell of spaghetti Mom cooked, I lazily got out of bed, and let the hot shower drown all my sorrows of the working week. A hectic stressful week indeed. Got me crying softly in the toilet as the stress was too much to handle. Fortunately for me, it was my birthday week.. 4th June passed by so fast. As there was just too much work to take a whole day's off, i took 2 half days. One on my birthday, one the next day.

Now, I had a birthday like no other. After the half day's work, I went to Vivo to pay off my bills. My mind was clouded as to what the hell am i supposed to do. It was all pretty non-deliberate as it was just me, myself and I. Ah hack it. I stepped into the first shop not knowing what my mind wanted. At all. I decided on the go-for-it-birthday-girl jiffy. "I'd like the aromatherapeutic half hour back massage please...," I said a with a little tinge of half-smile in my voice. I had a pair of good strong hands working my back. Kneading, pounding, massaging, aaah... that was when the hard toil in my muscles just melted away. I was as fresh as a saute'd vegetable after stepping out of that massage parlour. Round the bend I walked. And bought "Shopaholic and Sister" out of the blue. Very unintentional. I'm into my 5th book now and my mind won't rest until I know what Becky Bloomwood is up to next! Thus the very abrupt purchase. What's next? Hmm.. It's only 2pm.

The click-clacks have all gone back to their work-drunken office cubicles. And I'm free! What luck I had. My feet brought me to the movies. And indeed, get this, I went to watch Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian all by myself! Oh I haven't done that since The Titanic in my secondary's! Now before ya'll start thinking 'Gosh does she have a life?' or 'How miserable! Alone? ' let me stress that watching a movie alone is not for losers. Just think how independent that makes you feel, how confident for you to have the guts not to feel ashamed of yourself, and how you can encapsulate the whole movie in your heart, mind and soul without wondering what that friend or jerk-of-a-date next to you is thinking. Now that's fucking awesome. The movie is a high 5. Loved it so much that I watched it all over again online. Azlan is amazing. The graphics and sound are breath-taking! Yes I am addicted to Narnia! You can catch Part 1 on disney channel at 730pm tonight if you're clueless. Hey I may be 26, but i'm still 16 at heart. Honest. It was 630 by then and i had to meet my sister and hubby at the airport for a birthday dinner by 7. But my work clothes sucks! Damn I need a change! Typical me got on a spending spree again. In 5 minutes, I bought a top and belt and changed on the spot, grabbed a cab, and zooomed off to the airport. Sweet sister gave me a treat at Swensens. Thanks Phique!

Had a whole lot of SMS from my dear dear friends too birthday-wishing me... Thanks Ladies~! You know how special you all are to me. =) You know who you are.

The next day, i took half day as Hon wasn't working. My loving husband bought for me what I've always wanted as a present. An iPod. Finally! Music for my soul! Music for my runs! Music for my commute to work! I Love You! Thanks Hon!! We got a real good catch at one of the real authorised dealers! Get this: An iPod 8GB for the normal market price BUT with.... a leather case free, a travel charger free, a screen protector free AND lastly, an iPod Shuffle free. How cool is that. You can never get this elsewhere. Try find.

My ear-wax companion....
You don't just listen...
You FEEL the song..

Time for a new pair of glasses.....

Had enough of my Gucci plasticky framed nerdy ones. It's time for a new look. Been searching for the perfect one lately. Been in and out of opticians but none seems to appeal to me.... Yes the spectacles seem to be looking back at me. And those weepy sickening little voice of theirs in my head crying out...,"Buy me! No, Me! No! Buy Me!!" coz there're loads and loads of spectacles in any optical shop. But finally, I've found the perfect pair of spectacles.... Thanks to Hon who spotted it and whose taste i definitely declare 100% girl-in-a-shopping-frenzy trusted. I tried on about a dozen frames before settling on this piece of perfection. A good classy investment indeed.

How was our Saturday spent? I got me a pair of free movie tickets from my company.. but too bad it's the annoying movie, Indiana Jones. You' be thinking.. Geeez, why would anyone watch a movie full of crap, with an aged wrinkled-face, smelly-looking hero of a whipping lead cast who seems like he didn't bathe and change his clothes for days. (We're still talking about our lead cast here... re-iterate "LEAD CAST"). Well, you were right. It's Crap. And double whammy crap. The story line is kinda childish. First with a nuclear bomb blast scene which is totally unnecessary, and the whole story revolves around this elongated crystal skull cum magnetic skull cum missing-7th skull which when combine with the other magic skulls will explode a power so strong , you'd give Dr. Evil a run for his take-over-the-world poppycock. Hoaa... that's not even my point. In fact, it's far from the the jeez that these 7 mythical see-through creatures will combine to become an ALIEN, mind you. An Alien!??!?! Errr... Whhaaaaa!?! Mwaahahhahahahahahah! And here's the thing. The whole scene is set in 1958!! So that means, to them, Aliens existed waaaaay before Grandmomma was born! Dead Crap. However, Kudos to Shia Lebeouf for his acting in almost every movie nowadays. This guy is everywhere!

I'm into my 5th book of the shopaholic series and AM SO ENJOYING it. This Becky character got me so fixated, i started laughing to myself (or rather, AT myself) whenever i step into a shop for some retail therapy. It's great, this Becky. She's so funny. Gosh. Speaking of which, Shopping Season is here again!! Thus, the Sex and the City Song playing. I promise to change to another song once I've got my highs of shopping already ok. Bear with it!

Oh yea, we've been to the gym on Saturday for some treadmill run and weight-lifts. Gotta say, it feels good. But I think running outdoors is more challenging. It's the Real original thing, u know what i mean. With no air-con or fake up-slopes. But it feels great nonetheless.. No qualms about that. Will really need to exercise more, coz the tummy just refuses to go away. Or maybe..... NAH... Can't be. It just my tummy FATS, i swear. Back to work tomorrow!

Ouh Ouh... And Happy 7 Years 6 Months Honey! Will cook for you lemak chilli padi Ayam tonight for dinner k! I've prepared an array of menu for you already in my recipe book darling. Just take your pick. See?

-= Terrific Bintan in One Day ! =-

Thanks for staying tuned, SheZai readers! As promised, Here's a review of Bintan. Expensively terrific! Gorgeously thrilling! Splendidly sensational!

Last Saturday, we managed to wake up as early at 530am. Alas, we were still late. But who cares? The ferry hadn't gone off yet. It was soo early because the later ferries were all fully booked. So we have to bear with the morning-ness of it all. Reached Bintan at 10am and check-in was at 3pm! And so we wandered around e compounds of the resort, planning the itinerary for the day. The compound was ultimately humongous! With nice sceneries, refer to pics below. Can pass of as postcard. There are so many recreational activities offered by the resort that we had a hard time deciding. We wanted to fully utilise the time as well as have the greatest time possible.

The beach was calm during this season, so no body-boarding for us. Boo hoo! We had to make do with Banana Boat, Jet-Skiing and ATV the next morning. A quick note that the activities don't come cheap. Since it was my mom's birthday, we went all out and she gotta do the banana boat and jet skiing. =) The rooms will only be ready by 3pm! And by the time we finished booking and exploring, it was only noon! Our stomachs were growling for food. So what did we do? Chill at the Bar/restaurant for lunch. Check out the food that they offer.

Made you hungry? Another quick note to add that looks may be deceiving. They don't taste as delicious as they look. After lunch and a quick lepak nap at the verandah, we decided to go for a swim in the pool. The pool was huge, and relatively clean. Me and Hon challenged ourselves to water basketball and that was the start of all the fun. Oh how challenging he is. *Blueekk!* A good hour later, the reception informed us that the rooms are ready. Up we jumped and off to the rooms to unpack. The room was quite huge for superior double, with flat screen TV, a balcony, a bathtub in the toilet, and comfortable-enough beds. Once unpacked, we headed to the beach. Apparently, the bodyguards with washboard bodies still remembered my sister, who, being a "resident of Bintan", had gone there like 6 times before. They were like," Ehh, sudah lama ya tak nampak kamu di sini.." Hahaha! Right on, Sis. We took the Banana Boat first. The banana boat was being pulled by a speedboat and according to my sister, it was supposed to capsize in the middle of the ocean when the centrifugal force goes haywire. However, it did not. (much to my relief, as i somehow felt a tinge of sea drowning phobia) My heart was in my throat the whole ride. It was so fast and the turns were purposely sharp. I kept screaming," Aaaaaahhhh!! AaaaaaarrhhH!! AaaAAAAaaaAAAarrrhhH!! TANAKKKKKKKKKK! TAAAK NAAAAAKKK!!! " Hon, Mom and sis made fun of me the whole day because I shouted like kena rape like that. Hahahah!

Next was Jet-Ski. Now, this was fun. We did rounds far far off, away from shore. The ocean was so deep and choppy. Hon pressed the accelerator till the end and the jet-ski literally flies on the ocean surface at dead-fast speed. Adrenaline Rushh hits.... Fantastic! Mom had a go at Jet-Ski and she's a pro now. hehehe! That was for sea-sports.

At night, we had dinner at Pasar Oleh-Oleh, very much hyped up by the Bintan peoples. The food was ok, not too mouth-watering, but it made do for a full stomach. A 3-man band was playing and me and sis asked the band to secretly play a "Happy Birthday" song for Mom unexpectedly. A surprise for her during dinner. Her face lighted up like a candle when the band, with all their instruments, approached our table and belted out "Happy Birthday" much to her delight. Look at her, Glowing in all her glory. Magnificent ain't it? She kept on laughing and smiling all the way throughout dinner. Unexpectedly too, even my DAD followed suit and sang and clapped merrily, bellowing," Happy Birthday to my Wiiiiffe.." in his melodramatic karaoke-rehearsed tunes. Hahhahahhaha! It was a funny sight to behold. Let the pictures do the talking.. or more so like.. laughing.

We slept soundly throughout the night and woke up early for some ATV action. ATV = All Terrain Vehicle. Through Mud, sand, puddles, stones, rocks.. it lived up to its name. Sheesh! Hon Loves this sport the most and he was always the first one, going speedily fast! Me and sis had a hard time manouvering the vehicle, but it was ultimate fun! We kept banging into bushes and got trapped in puddle ditches and sand pits! My ATV stalled halfway and we got an extra half hour. Haha! We explored untouched beaches far away from the rest of the peoples, took pics and fooled around before riding back. All in all, it was superb! Made the most out of it! See pics below:

After washing up and getting rid of the mud baths we had while ATVing, we had to finally say goodbye to Bintan. The ferry took us back to our homeland and it's back to reality. That One single day managed to meet my expectations. Although I get a lot of my friends and relatives telling me that the resort is more for elderly people, it wasn't so bad after all! Definitely going back again.

More Pics can be found on my Facebook.
