Love Love Weekends

Me and Hon had a BBQ at my company's VP house (more like garden) on Friday night, complete with Luo Hei and all. The BBQ otah2, chicken, salmon, squid etc were the most delicious I have ever tasted in my whole life, and i am not exagerating. Hmm... Gives me an idea to hold a BBQ function for close ones soon.. only that.... need to find an occassion to celebrate first.. hehehe.

After the nice function, we met up with cousins to explore the Airport @ Terminal 3. It was such a funny evening. We are like so 'Jakun"... wah this, wah that, ooooh this, oooooh that, wow everything. Indeed it was wow. The design, the architecture = top class! We sat down at Popeye's till midnight with a "Get to know my Boss" session and headed home. Early Friday night coz we gottabe gearing up for our Saturday's weekly morning exercise routine at ECP. I say, I say, my stamina's improved and it's been a month of weekly exercise now. =) Next week's adventure will be at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.. Going trekking! I Like!!!

Love this angle, ok, we're gonna fly'on outta here...
Dreams of travelling

And so I had my jog with my Mom, Fahmy & Mai. An achievement indeed! Healthy = sexy. Right? Breakfast salad at Mac enriches my soul for a deco-high Saturday!

Those enriched salad nutrients went into my braincells and suddenly i got into a deco-high. yet again! And so it's time for the revamp of The BedRoom! (again). Together with Bride & Groom pillowcases..... This month's theme - Mr & Mrs Smith ! Coincidentally, Mr Smith is on Hon's side of the bed, and Mrs Smith is on mine. ;P

Just so love to come home to our room everyday after work... Oh Oh, Hon's on the way home from work now! Gonna make Yong Tau Foo Soup for him, he's having the sniffles! Need some good broth/soup to drain those mucus membranes away... Easy and fast to cook.

The End Product for Hubby

Next movie update on leap year - The movie played by Wong Li Lin and that hunk of a guy who looks like Orlando Bloom .. *winks* Tomorrow's gonna be shopping day again! This time for Hon's smart dinner & dance clothes... Hmm... *Imagine*

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Stay tuned for the next room revamp theme, readers.

Yesterday, Hon and me went on a shopping spree.. no, not for clothes, not for shoes, not for underwear, nor for groceries..... We went on a spree for movie posters!!! Just like the huge ones used on the billboards. PopcornPop will be our most visited shop monthly. We have even signed up to be a member as we have spent the minimum amount required. =) We just looove them. Adding on to our collection of movie posters are = Kill Bill, Star Wars, Mr and Mrs Smith, Sweeney Todd.

The Sweeney Todd collector's edition poster used to cost $25, but has appreciated to about $60 at the time of our purchase. Great investment! It's so arty, we love it!! Can't wait for our off days together to revamp our room again. What's more, Hon also just bought a Transformers Queen sized bed quilt cover and pillow cases!! Hahaha! Talking about addicted!!

Tomorrow's Friday night again.. and the plan for the evening is a barbecue at my department's Vice President's backyard. Hon's invited too! Maybe later in the evening, we'll go dating again if time permits. I really miss Hon. Our work schedules always do not coincide. So ONE free day in a week is hard to come by.

Next Friday is my company's dinner and dance. NOL's 40th anniversary. And all spouses are invited to the dinner and dance. So Hon's gonna be donned in chic and smart, tie-non-optional event! Can't wait for that! Hahaha!

Wonder what our next movie will be.....

I love you, Honey.

Rochester's VillaBali and Dempsey's Ben&Jerry's Saturday Night Out

Last night was absolute fun and fulfilling. Waited for Hon to end work, cousins fetched him from town and off we go to Dinner @ VillaBali, Rochester Park. Had a nice chat and was entertained by Balinese Dancers right at our table.

SheZai : A lovely evening with good company.

Fahmy & Maisuri
Hon & Firuz

My Cousin Firuz (Pssst, he's single & available)

Here comes the food. We had a seafood platter with rice and PadThai and Mango Salad. Authentic Dishes, better than some Thai eateries as quoted.

After our hearty meal, Kak Mai suggested to chill at Dempsey Road. It was fun and laughter all the way as we sat at Ben & Jerry's from 9-ish till close-midnight. The super delicious ice-cream and ambience just makes the night magnificently magical.

Movie & Food Reviews

I've always thought that it's not about how far your education level is, but it's how you talk and your body language that says a lot about you. You can really go far in career if you've got speech skills. Seriously. I just got home from my weekly jog at ECP. Maybe next week, it's an affair with the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Monkeys. That said. It's time for an entry. I foresee it to be quite a long one as there is just so much to yak about. Blog song is a current favourite song!

First and formost, let's get it on with the movies. Me and hon watched 3 movies these past weeks. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Sweeney Todd of Fleet Street and PS I Love You. In view of the film festival, we were on the rampage of finding a good satisfying movie. Thus we scout online and came across this movie with 4-5 stars rated in the film festival. We read reviews and almost all of them gave a super good one. And so we caught this 2 hr plus movie at Vivo.

Mind you, Hon slept almost throughout the movie. It's bloody annoying. This hot shot got into a coma, woke up and was paralysed full bodied. He can only wink ONE bloody eye. So to communicate with him, the nurses, doctors and visitors have to read out letters of the alphabets, e.g. a,e,i,o,u,r,s,t,l,n.... one wink means that's the letter he chose. so imagine, if to spell ONE bloody word, how long it will take!? They repeated that about a gazzilion times everytime he needs to "speak" in the movie. Hah..Irony is.. He wrote a whole book in this manner! Based on a true story so I decided to give this one 2/5 instead of 1/5. Bloody annoying and draggy. If you were to look at it in an arty farty kinda way, the concept, the idea, the directing... it's all good. But my mind is too tired to think in an arty farty way that day. So bear the rating.

As per previous entry, me and hon caught P.S. I Love You that night we had a date. This one, I cried and bawled my eyes out till they were "lebam". Dunno why. Is it the movie or is it just me being too soft and emotional. I can never watch or see somebody dying in a movie. What more having the wife grieve in such sorrow over the loss of her husband. I can just cry. It's my soft spot. Hon, on the other hand, DID NOT cry as i expected him to. *Macho macho man.. bluuerrghh* Thinking back again, it's true what Hon said. If only he is the one who did all those things, or if they showed how he died, the movie will have a whole new meaning and focus :- which will make me cry 2 times worse. I'm not gonna rattle on for the sake of those who haven't watch it. But to me and Hon, i don't think it's a great movie to catch as a couple. This movie is for girlfriends in Girls outings who can just girl-cry together!!! Guys just don't get it why we girls cry over such menial things. Hon can even joke around that the Irish guy looks and sounds like a "Spartan" from 300. Hahahaha! Geeeez Witty Hon. I know for me, i give it a 4/5. Bring on those tissues for those tear ducts. *Ema, go catch if wit your girlfriends!*

Last but not least, Mr Sweeney Todd, the Barber from Fleet Street. Caught that yesterday. Was surprised indeed. Did anyone out there already know that this movie is actually a musical?! With musical lyrics/lines being spewed out from the mouths of the actors themselves? My bad. I didn't know that, see. And so it came as a "MENDAK" surprise for me at the beginning of the movie. But as the story unfolds about how Mr Todd wants revenge on practically the whole town/the whole imaginary world and make human flesh meatpies out of the people by slitting open their throats with his barber blade on the highly-technologised self-made barber chair, I stood at the edge of me seat, Love. The whole musical and accent thing just caught my attention, and Especially, special mention on the most wonderous acting skills of Mr Johnny Depp, a fave of mine. I love ALL his quirky character personalities in ALL the movie he acted in. Personally, i was intrigued by the acting and singing, so i give it a 3.5/5. Don't waste your money on this one if you're not into singing and musicals, Love.

Aaaahh.. food glorious food. Gonna go to Villa Bali again tonight to have a satisfying meal with great company. I just like the ambience at night. Yesterday, however, tastes a little bit different. I'm a kinda person who's not so into curry. But Kak Mai brought me and Hon to a little place called "Muthu's Curry" for dinner, not in Mumbai deyy, but in Suntec. A little upscale restaurant which serves Indian delights. Let the photos do the talking, need i say more?
Spinach with diced cottage cheese. Looks icky? Don't let ya mind play games with ya.

Chicken Tandoori

Mutton Kebab

Basmati Rice, Papadom, curry and my cousin Kak Mai.

On Thursday, SheZai held a cook-out session for Hon's friends just to watch our wedding video. The evening turned out mighty fine. Teamwork with Hon is so great! Hon makes such a good kitchen helper, I might wanna promote him to chef suisse. =) Thank you Love. The whole afternoon was spent in the kitchen with Hon. We made lasagne, mee beefballs and other stuffs. Thanks to friends below for coming to our Cook-Out @ Home.

P.S. I Love You

SheZai's gonna watch this hyped-up movie tonight~! Yes! A little lovin date tonight with the hubby completes my day. Even the trailer makes me have tears in my eyes. I don't know why. Maybe it's my womanly hormones crying out. Hahaha! Gee I've even heard that the movie makes any toughest hardest guy cry their eyes out. So go catch it, Lovebirds.

And so.. it's the start of a long long weekend. Tomorrow's gonna be bowling with the family, and cook-out with friends at my house at night. Friday's gonna be a cycling date with Hon, i reckon. Saturday's gonna be a jogging day with Kak Mai again. Yes.. a Saturday Affair. I really feel different the whole week after the exercise. It really makes a HUGE difference. And Sunday will be hmmmm.... Sleep-in Sunday? =)

SheZai's next cycling target:- Cycling expedition from Tampines to Clementi. *gulps*

Enjoying every minute of it

Whoaa... It's really unusual and highly unlikely to see Hon blog 3 times in a row, ain't it. Thank you Hon. Your Nike kicks are really awesome too. *winks* I'm just back from 'jogging' at ECP with Kak Mai, Fahmy and the Moms. Great workout. Planning for it to be a weekly affair. Well, Why not. What with all the calories-intake these few weeks, my waistline is getting a tad bit rounder. Cycling, as mentioned by Hon below, is also gonna be one of our favourite routine. I find it romantic, when we would discuss issues while cycling, or just cycle to Pasir Ris to watch the sunrise. A great investment, and a great sight-seeing tool. When we are ready, we'll go night cycling, or even take on the roads. Feelin' adventurous. Haha.

Recently, we had some good food. Being food-maniacs, we love to stuff ourselves. Had some at VillaBali when it was Fik's birthday. Nice night-time ambience.

SheZai
Fik, Zul & Iza

Recently too, Kak Mai gave me and Hui Tien a treat at Pasta de Waraku. The place is superb!! I've always had a liking for Italian food and this restaurant just beats the rest. So superb that the very next day itself, I brought Hon to have our dinner there to celebrate our "belated monthversary". Hehe! The prawns & scallop pizza is mind-blowing! You know how prawns are supposed to be crunchy to tell if they are really fresh? That's the taste. Fresh.
Me and my boss at Bakerz Inn.
Me and Kak Mai eating those melt-in-your-mouth macarooons.
Hon ordered baked prawn n chick pasta. The pizza as mentioned in the middle. And i ordered spicy prawn carbonara. Anything prawns, please!

So, you see, that's why exercise is a must. Oh i forgot to mention that i saw a nenek in a really skimpy string bikini that covers little, with shades and sun visor jogging along the track. Flabby parts flew everywhere. Head turner for sure. She must have thought this was Miami Beach or something... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww!!!!

Oh yar, I bumped into Mima the other day, and oh boy, how i missed her!! So much to catch up on. We used to bitch a lot during those school days. Seeing her so happy makes me so happy. As simple as that. Miss you, girl.

On another note, I'm starting to enjoy cooking too. In an experimental kinda way. So-called beginner's luck in the kitchen. Hehehehe. Gonna go out again later to town to meet Hon at his shop and at night, chalet with friends. Some plans are made for a little travelling too at the end of the year. So looking forward to travel. Once we have the means. =) Ok Hon? Let's have countless honeymoons together. I love you.

I so dig Kevin Michael's songs. "We all want the same things" and "It don't make any difference" are my faves. Dig it. Song's playin for you, Hubby.

Happy Happy!

Nike Air Max 90 SI Olympic China Exclusive, a shoe that I've come across when I'm surfing around at one of my favorite shoe website which luckily Leftfoot brought in & I manage to get it! Yeay! 2 more pair at least coming soon for the month of Feb. Anyway I cycled around Tampines to Bedok reservoir this morning. Hun woke me up when she was about to leave for work (I asked her to do so the night before) but I was too tired to do so. So I woke up at 10 instead & had mee suah for breakfast. Bought chicken rice for lunch on my way home & did a little laundry & housekeeping. Gonna fetch Hun later from work & we're going shopping!(her turn) Wonder what we're gonna have for dinner later. Oh btw, yesterday Kak Mai & Fahmy send both of us home on their new car. Really BIG car with a superb angle view (as describe by Hui Tien) from inside the car! Ok, gonna wait for Hun's update! Can't wait to meet her! Man Utd Latest Signing, Taufik. Happy Birthday Man, See you at the chalet!

My Wife Is Very Neat & Tidy & She's Beautiful ":P

I finally owned a bicycle since the age of 9 years old. Actually before I got my pay last month, I've already planned with Hun that we should buy a bicycle each & should feel "adventure" whenever we're free. Shopping of course is still our first hobby that we always enjoy! Anyways, the day we plan to buy a bicycle came a little sooner than we expected despite our hectic scheduled. All because of a stupid knee injury that I got due to a game of soccer that I played less than 10 minutes. Was supposed to go for operation but it cost quite a bomb. Therefore the doctor advices were, to do a lot of cardio in order for the brain to "interact" again with my right leg muscles. So no soccer & running for me. 6 months out for running at least but soccer no no. I still plan to save up for the operation just in case after 6-8 months & I can't still play my favorite sports. That brings me to the reason why I have already bought a bicycle! Hun has been supportive as well! (she buys a bicycle too) Now we can cycle to East Coast & watch the sun set!

Anyways O'level results are out today. All the best to my fellow part-timers who got their results today!!

What I've discovered from reading The New Paper today is that the contents are all full of different type of courses for the students to choose from. Really a lot compared to my time. I've always wanted to be a chef & go to shatec. I couldn't get what I wanted due to the course being expensive so I chose to go to ITE & do Mechatronics which was highly recommended by my uncle & friends. Its a very good course no doubt & in fact I get to taste how's life like as a technician for a year when I joined with Raffles Medical Group as their technician. But no no, that's not what I want, I told myself. I don't want to wake up & drag my ass to work. That's when I actually try to give a go at retail. I have to tell myself that I have to expect a smaller pay for a start & have to like my job. I chose Nike & have never look back since. Despite the different from an 8-5 working hours & irregular off days , I still stay put to where I stand now. Thanks also to my Hun for supporting me all the way! I've also tell myself that this is what I've always wanted! Waking up at 915, No rush for the bathroom, Wear T shirt that I like(as long its Nike), Berms! , get to select my favorite shoe to wear out of the 40 pairs, Getting a seat to & fro on the train, Meet new people each day! Getting free stuffs at times!!!! & the list continues..

See.. I love my job no matter what people think. ":D

Oh yea..I also get to bumped into friends, relatives, cousins, uncles & aunts just like I bumped into Aunty Nel on my way to Paragon yesterday! haha

Thanks Hun!

Yeay! The Jordan Spiz'ike was a belated gift from hun! It has to be my first pair of shoes I owned ever since I got married (except for a couple of free ones from Nike Sg)*winks*. Anyways Jordan shoes does have a history for me since I'm in my secondary school days. Jordan 13 was my first pair that my mum bought for me & the 2nd pair of Jordan was from my wife! Great mind does thinks alike ay haha. Anyways I'm going back to my old self again, yeah more shoes than my wife! ':P

Anyway Hun's on a sick leave today. She caught a fever yesterday. Accompanied her to her family doctor & we had pratas for breakfast at a coffeeshop. We always wondered when we will get to eat breakfast outside together & finally today after accompanying her to the doctor, we finally got the chance! YEay again!

Speaking of yesterday.. I had great fun too! After work, my parents in law fetched me & we went straight to Nurul's house. All the cousins were there including Farhan. It was also the first time I got to meet Khairul & Khidir. While the rest were catching up the good old days I got to interact & know my cousins well. We had a great chat & I must say that they do have interesting lives as well..doing something that they've always loved. So bottomline keyword for yesterday was Passion! Right Yut!!?
ahah

Once again, Thanks honey for the Jordan!
I Love you Very much!!!

Room for a room - SheZai's Theme Design Part 2

This pasta was made when I had no idea for hubby's dinner. Baked Pasta. Hee heeeeeee.

Ok moving forward, Me and Hon decided on sprucing up our room today. I was on leave to bring Hon to his MRI scan result and physiotherapy session at the hospital. When we got back, the room was our canvas. I, for one, am crazy for decals. True enough we bought a set for our room and designed it together. We planned to have a monthly theme for our room. And every month will be a new movie poster. This month - Kill Bill. Collector's Movie poster. SheZai's new craze. It's amazing how we will always have the same ideas in our heads. Agreeing almost most of the time to almost anything. =) Great Love Minds think alike? haha.

This was our room during our wedding, Nov 07.

This is our room now.
Me arranging and designing the decals.

My sister's help turned our clock into a character's playground.

And this is just above our bed.

The whole wall from far.

The smaller poster, a Transformers calendar i bought for Hon and Hon's laptop.

Our lava lamp (wedding gift from PhiqueIsa) and Hon's Optimus Prime Convoy iPod Speaker.

OK, Me back to work tomorrow. Hon is still enjoying the rest of his 3 weeks MC off. He'll be back to work soon. I'm sure he misses work so much. As for tomorrow, we're going dating again. This time, i'm getting Hon his Long-owed birthday present... yes... yet another Nike Sneakers. *Shhhh... Don't tell Momma!!*

The Way to a Man's Heart is through his Stomach

As far-fetched as it seems, i cooked for my husband today. It was a lovely Saturday. We slept in and woke up late due to the fact that we watched "American Gangster" with the cousins the night before and chilled at McCafe East Coast till 5am tis morn. When I woke up, the kitchen was my playhouse. And so the cooking starts. The spices, the chillies, the blending, the frying, the cutting, the dicing, yes, the works. Single-handedly, I did it. Sheikha can cook. =)

Frying noodles and making pasta was a breeze, intermediary was "Chicken Rice". It was a success. Let's start off with the mess in the kitchen.

The chilli and the mushrooms kailan in oyster sauce.

The fried chicken

All in, Dig in.

Hon was a great help. He knows how to cook the vegetables!
What more can you ask for in a helpful hubby?

And we are now at Starbucks having a date, enjoying our Javachips after the heavy rain, just spending precious time together. Hon's leg is slowly on its way to recovery. Alhamdulillah.

Hon is having leg in the pain.....

Honey had a sports injury last week that left his right knee's meniscus broken and ligament torn. He can't walk properly cos he can't straighten his leg. He's now on crutches (which he refuses to use most of the time due to the lecheh-ness). I think it will take him more than 6 months to recover fully..No more soccer or running or cycling for him. *sad sad*. I was hoping we could do running or cycling together. He's now on 2 weeks medic leave and will have more in the future. He will have his MRI scan tomorrow at the hospital and the results will be out next week whether he has to go for an operation; or not. It's a dreadful and long process to recovery. Sigh... However, he's still terkinja-kinja macam ulat gonggok at home, joking around, playing his Football Manager, Xbox, watching DVDs, entertaining me. hehehe!
*What's new*

I can take good care of him and now have more time to spend with him on weekends......
A blessing in disguise? =)

I love you my husband... Coz yooouuuuu take me the way I am.

If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.

Cuz I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.

If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.

Cuz I love the way you call me baby honey.
And you take me the way I am.

I'd buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.

Cuz I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
